Research Area

The Group focus on diverse areas in synthetic aspect focusing on asymmetric synthesis with a special emphasis on total synthesis of newly isolated lactone containing natural products. The group has already accomplished the total synthesis of several new molecules such as stagonolides, herbarumins, other 6-membered lactone molecules such as synparvolide, dodonolide, synrotolide, etc. Studies towards the total synthesis for macrolides such as sorangicin A, macrolactin S are currently being investigated. Recently, work on flow chemistry is being explored for the synthesis of APIs such as celecoxib and daclatasvir.
