Srdjan Beronja is a composer, percussionist, musicologist, producer, and music director.

Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, he developed as a musician through an unconventional path shaped by diverse performance traditions. His compositions draw on world music traditions, classical traditions, minimalism, and experimental acoustic chamber music.

In 2001, he moved to India, where he studied classical tabla in Varanasi at the Prachin Kala Kendra Art Institute branch, earning a diploma in Indian classical music. His studies led to the publication of The Art of the Indian Tabla (Rupa & Co., New Delhi), reflecting his research into Indian classical music.

Between 2001 and 2011, he worked across the Balkans, Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, performing and collaborating with musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds while researching traditional instruments and musical cultures. This period resulted in his original compositions and his role as performer and music director on two albums: The Sounds of Varanasi (2014) and Sounds of the East (2016), released by ARC Music (UK). His recordings have also appeared on international world music compilations.

Since 2011, he has been based in Seattle, USA, where he founded AUDIO, an acoustic chamber music project exploring improvisation, listening, and intercultural musical dialogue through original compositions and collaborative performance.

He continues to develop new works with musicians worldwide, focusing on works that bring together diverse musical traditions within contemporary acoustic settings.
