Sukhdeep Singh, PhD

Sukhdeep Singh is working as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher with Boise State University, USA. Sukhdeep Singh has completed his PhD in Computer Science (Pattern Recognition) from the Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University Chandigarh (India) from November, 2013 to January, 2018. He has recieved his MCA degree from the same Institution. His research interests include Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning in the area of Online Handwriting Recoginition. He is currently working in the area of Handwriting Recognition. He is also interested to work in other areas of Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning and Image Processing.

· In pattern recognition, He worked in online handwriting recognition for four years. I worked in Indic scripts mainly to recognize online handwritten strokes, characters and words. Currently, He is working in the area of online Gurmukhi handwriting recognition.

· In feature extraction, He worked in algorithmic and code development for dominant points based feature extraction.

· The aim of his future research is to work in direction of solving image processing and pattern recognition problems, and handwritten text recognition in lexicon free environments.

· He is also expected to use convolutional neural network (CNN) with various architectures to explore practical issues of pattern recognition problems through its software development.
