Community Service Program Committees

Arts and Culture: Encourages members to promote and support art and cultural programs in their clubs and communities, and to expand understanding on every level, from local and regional to national and international. Share upcoming community and cultural events (theater, music, art contests, etc.)

Civic Engagement & Outreach: Reminds members that each of us is a part of a larger society and is responsible for undertaking actions that will create a better quality of life and foster a sense of community—locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Share information on elections in a bipartisan matter and update members on issues that involve women and community

Education & Libraries:  Aim to help others, while we also continue to learn. The projects promote libraries, literacy, and the love of a good book. Work with Spring Grove High School to select Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY) students and Eleanor Thatcher scholarship, and other scholarship, scholastic, and library events to promote literacy, Attend Scholarship Banquet

Environment:  Encourages us to become stewards of the earth by working to preserve the world’s resources, protect wildlife and domesticated animals, live sustainably, and beautify our communities and enjoy nature. Health & Wellness: To improve our well-being, we must address three key components: nutrition, disease prevention, and physical and emotional care. This Community Service Program aims to explore the various opportunities for awareness and advancement of each of these vital areas. Promoting the health and wellness issues and letting membership know if any member is ill, injured, or needs assistance.

Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness & Prevention:  Increase awareness of and help prevent the widespread occurrence of violence against women in communities across the nation and the globe.

State Presidents' Project: Mental Health- National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI)

 Club Committees

Club Programs: Select and schedule upcoming interesting speakers and events for our October, November, January, February, and May meetings

Club Public Relations: Work closely with all committees promote news worthy events to the public (Facebook, web pages, newsletter, or other) and keep content and photographs current

Club Parliamentary Advisor:  Review and update Women’s Club of Spring Grove bylaws as needed.  Ensure GFWC Federation rules are followed.

Local President’s Project: Sharon Myer’s Chosen Project

Club Phone Committee: Maintain a list of current membership telephone phone numbers and phone members if voting is needed outside of a meeting or a monthly change

Club Finance: Participate in yearly audits with Treasurer and assist in budget planning (President, Vice-President, Treasurer), Committee Chairman, and one other active member

Club Hospitality: Providing refreshments, paper products, drinks, table and chair setup, decorations, and getting the key from the Spring Grove Borough office for one of our monthly meetings (September, October, November, January, February, March, April, May)

Club Leadership/Membership: Assist in recruiting new members, promoting upcoming meetings and events, assisting with installation of new members

Club Ways & Means: Responsible for creative fund raising to support our yearly budget

Yearbook: Responsible for updating and maintaining electronic version of Charter Members, Honorary Members, Past Presidents, Signature Projects, Important Dates, Executive Board Members, Committees, Budget, Meeting Dates, Member Contact Information, and Important Contacts

Dine and Chat: Coordinate informal social dining events outside of the monthly meeting to keep in touch
