I have had several requests for general purpose flashlights that emit white light. With the help of Mark Jankowski as my main field tester for general purpose flashlights, we went to work in the lab and did a week of building and testing both scientific and field testing. The T13 in white as delivered puts out about 40Kcd. With some modifications it now puts out about 100Kcd(100,000candela). Taking the beam distance from 400 meters to over 630 meters with decent usable side spill. The light output is more than doubled while maintaining a run time of around 1.5 hrs with sanyo 2600 batteries. A great combination of run time and output!

WOW. The month of december as flown by. I am slowly getting caught up with existing orders. Anyone who has ordered don't worry your stuff is on the way. I am accumulating the parts to build about 40 T20 IR lights. If you have inquired I will contact you about the individual build. I hope to have them done by mid january , I am at the mercy of customs and shipping. I recently changed the way The T13's are assembled and are now sporting the highest bin cree XPE-2. I have noticed a substantial increase in output. The green T13's are now putting out around 85,000 candela, a 200% increase over last years T13!
2/2014 Just finished a dereelight nightmaster for a customer. Removed the dereelight circuit, emitter and star and put "my stuff" in it. stock it put out 22Kcd after my mods 40Kcd. The customer is happy! 1/15 update: we installed a very high quality AR coated lens in the nightmaster and increased its performance another 8%!
12/2014 T20 news: Well it seems that china finally figured out what we are doing with the T20's. The T20's are now offered as IR illuminators and with red and green emitters directly from china. They are being advertised as genuine cree and oslon emitters. I have not inspected or tested these but i can speculate with reasonable certainty that the construction, components, and performance are very poor. T20 builders are popping up all over the place, as well. Not all T20 builders know what they are doing. Many have ripped off or tried to copy some of the better builders. My T20's continue to show at least 30% better output than the competition with excellent run times and reliability. I was the first person in the USA to build T20's for use as hunting lights. To my knowledge no other builders are using the same components and materials in their builds that I do.

UPDATE: I just recently tested a T20 direct from china with a red LED. This particular T20 put out a dismal 5,000Cd. After mods it now puts out about 24,000Cd nearly 5X brighter. The china T20's use paper thin aluminum PCB's, really crappy circuit boards, poor performing contact springs, and low bin/counterfeit red emitters. Please beware of these issues when ordering from china, most of the time you are wasting your money.

Cree released a new XPE2 red emitter that is about 14% brighter than the previous highest bin. All red lights now shipping with this new emitter.
2/21 T50X is now available. it does everything the T50 and T20 did in one light. email for more info
