I am an assistant professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Bologna, and core faculty at the Bologna Business School Centre for Sustainability and Climate Change. My research interests lie in climate dynamics, monsoons and hydroclimate extremes.
Before joining the University of Bologna, I was research scientist at Stanford University (2019-2021), associate research scientist at NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and Princeton University (2017-2019), NOAA Climate & Global Change postdoctoral fellow at the California Insitute of Technology (2015-2017), and postdoctoral fellow at the Hamburg University (2011-2014).
In hold a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Reading UK -- where I studied the entropy budget of the climate system (thesis.pdf), supervised by Jonathan Gregory -- and a M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the "Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II", Department of Physics (Naples, Italy).
