Students successfully completing Honors 4 Spanish or who have had a minimum of four years of study and are not ( or not yet) desirous of electing the Spanish AP class and its curriculum for the 2022-2023 scholastic year, would find this class a great learning experience. This is an HONORS level class; there are weekly assignments, oral presentations, literary analyses and compositions. (THERE NEEDS TO BE A MINIMUM OF THREE STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS; A BRIEF INTERVIEW WITH SR LEVEN IS ALSO REQUIRED)
The three texts we use are:
(1) DESCUBRE @2017 Level 3 - This NEW-for-2014 interactive system comes included a textbook, with the eCuaderno and access to the Supersite ISBN:978-1-61857-413-8 DESCUBRE 3 @2017 $144.00 With eCuaderno Code/Student Edition/Supersite Code

(2) REPASO (Glencoe/McGraw Hill) ISBN 0-07-846050-6. Text is reasonably priced on a number of internet sites. You may buy it used if you can find it new.
(3) El Coronel no Tiene Quien Le Escriba (Gabriel García Márquez). Any book edition of this original award-winning novel in Spanish will be fine. (If entire work is located-free- on the internet, it must be printed out..)
This class will meet at a time convenient to all the students (limit is 5 per class). Course will feature frequent oral reports on current events and topics of student interest, on-line assignments, intensive conversation practice, and a complete review of Spanish grammar. Course is ideal for preparation and success in Spanish Language Test (Achievement test- for H S seniors) or College placement exams (for incoming college freshmen).
Literary works will be chosen from a variety of Spanish authors: Garcia Marquez, Unamuno, Allende, Matute, Lorca, Borges. There will be a sampling of novels, short stories and dramas. Many of the literary pieces will be furnished by the teacher.
