Hello, thank you for visiting my personal website. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management; Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. My fields of research interest in economics include empirical Political Economics (corruption and governance, institutions, elections, public policy), Law and Economics (regulation, economics of crime, economic analysis of law), Health Economics, Public Economics (public finance, public healthcare, public transport), and Business Ethics. In management, I am interested in empirical issues in Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship. Over the years, I've taught an assortment of courses related to economics (macroeconomics, development econ, econometrics, public finance, law and econ, health econ, labour econ, intro to econ, Indian economy) and management (entrepreneurship and startups, marketing management, pricing strategy, project management, content marketing), at UG and PG levels at various reputed institutions, both in regular and visiting positions.
I've been an adjunct faculty at Indian Institute of Technology Patna and a visiting faculty at National Law University Odisha. I serve as Associate Editor at the international peer-reviewed journals such as Cogent Economics & Finance (section: development economics, publisher: Taylor & Francis), Journal of Public Affairs (publisher: Wiley), SN Business & Economics (subject area: public policy and institutional economics, publisher: Springer), SN Social Sciences (subject area: education, development and social justice, publisher: Springer). I am also a Research Fellow, Global Labor Organization (GLO), Essen, Germany. I am a Reviewer of several international peer-reviewed economics, political science, and social science journals.
My past employment includes stints as Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Management Amritsar, Fellow, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi; Post-Doctoral Researcher, Chair of Political Economy & Development, University of Zurich, Zurich (Switzerland); and Visiting Scientist, Economic Analysis Unit, Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore. I have also had pre-doctoral stints at Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, erstwhile Planning Commission, and Tata Motors Limited, Mumbai (in chronological order).
I had studied economics at University of Hyderabad (Masters), and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (PhD Thesis title: "Essays on Empirical Political Economics").
