Access the Library Catalog and Library Databases from home or another remote site, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. User login and password are obtained FREE in the library.
The South Tama Library Media Centers are located on each campus.
At South Tama Middle School in Room 308.
At South Tama High School in Room 122.
Checkout
Students may check out books at any time during the school week or during scheduled library classes
9th-12th: 5 books
Checkout period is 10 school days.
High School students are subject to late fees at a rate of 5 cents per day per item.
Any additional circulation procedures adopted as needed and posted at the librarian's desk are to be observed by patrons.
Students are always welcome in any of our Library Media Centers as long as staff are present and available. Students are expected to conduct themselves according to school rules and observing the rights of others by using quiet voices. At no time should students use computers without an adult staff member present. Computers use is a privilege, and students are expected to adhere to the policies adopted by the South Tama Community School District.
Dixie Forcht serves the South Tama County Secondary Schools as the Teacher Librarian, and teaches 21st Century Technology at the Middle School for 7th & 8th graders. She has been at STC since 2013.
Mrs. Forcht holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Political Science from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master's in Communication Studies and Radio/TV/Film. She has a Master's in School Library Studies from the University of Northern Iowa, is certified for K-12 Teacher Librarian, K-12 Talented & Gifted, Speech & Theatre, US Government, and is a licensed PK-12 Administrator.
Middle School Library Associate, Ms. Murphy
Tammy Weiss is the High School Library Associate. She has been employed by South Tama since August 2004.
Mrs. Weiss graduated from STC High School, and holds an Associate's Degree from Marshalltown Community College. Before coming to work in the Library, Tammy worked as an associate for the special education department at the High School.
