When to Call Up

Paraprofessionals should call their professional staff during business hours and professional staff on duty after-hours during the following situations: (Note: *** University Police should be called first during these situations or in any situation where someone may be a threat to themselves or others).

• *** Medical Emergency/Hospital Transport

• *** Violent behavior or escalated emotional situation: Physical assault/altercation, verbal altercation, domestic violence

• Sexual assault/sexual misconduct

• Harassment/threats- Students feel unsafe

• Mental health emergency

• Arrest(s)

• *** Suicide attempt/ideation/completed suicide

• Fire alarm and no professional staff are present

• *** Fire

• Major Facilities Issue: Flood, power outage, broken elevator, broken window, broken door/swipe system

• *** Death of a Student or Visitor

• *** Weapons found

• Drugs are found

• Party, where you need staff back-up 

• Any other situation that arises, where you need assistance

• Biohazard (bodily fluids) cleanup is needed
