PDCA South Jersey Chapter Dedicates Annual Community Service Project to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties

(March 29, 2011 – Vineland, NJ) – On February 19th 2011, nearly 20 painting professionals of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, South Jersey Chapter, spent their day revitalizing the office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties.

The PDCA contractors worked to improve the interior of the office building by repairing damaged walls, painting walls, ceiling and trim and adding art graphics to the conference room. A highlight of the day’s work is a detailed artistic mural reading, “Making a Big Difference One Child at a Time”, painted onto the wall in the meeting room of the office.

Donna Bennett, President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem County quoted, “It was clear to anyone who visited the humble workspace that the building needed more than just a paint of coat; some tender loving care was also in order. The professional painters who donated their time provided just that.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with measurable impact.

Annually, the PDCA South Jersey Chapter hosts a Community Service Project benefiting local charities in need. The slogan for the project is known as, “A Painter’s Day Off”. The 2011 project was made possible due to the time and equipment donated by painting professionals of the South Jersey PDCA Chapter. PDCA and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem counties want to say a special thank you to Benjamin Moore – Soltz Paint Company for their generous donation of materials.
