The Southern Cross Outdoors Group is a not-for-profit association, formed in 1981. Most people call us SCOG. We are based in Sydney and surrounds. SCOG organises bushwalking and other outdoor (and indoor) activities for the LGBTQIA+ community and friends. You don’t have to be a member to try our activities.

SCOG's essential objects are:
To promote health and friendly association, principally through outdoors activity
To conduct activities that includes both members and non-members
Our regular Activities (usually two or three times a month) include :
Occasional Activities include:
Restaurant get-togethers (usually twice a year)
Mardi Gras Bushdance
A ski week at Perisher (once a year for various grades)
Camping trips, Mountain biking, Tennis
Skills and fitness requirements vary depending on the activity, so no matter what your experience or interest SCOG will have something for you.

You don’t need to be a member to participate in our activities. However, membership confers the right to vote at SCOG meetings, to shape the future of SCOG as a committee member; to get printed copies of the Yowie; and to have priority in bookings of certain activities. As a member you have the opportunity to support a valuable organisation in the gay and lesbian community. Click on Join SCOG to apply.
