In this lesson students will make artwork “come to life” using web-based software (including Soundation, Freesound, and Thinglink). Students will use audio-recording technology to “mix” a “soundtrack” to artwork from any era. Whether it is the art of the Renaissance or the Depression-era photographs of Jacob Riis, students will research the art and time period to create an interactive “touchable” image and an appropriate auditory backdrop for each artwork. This project allows students to better place themselves within the work of art itself as well as the time period it represents or the time in which it was created.
