The Sound Shore STARS would like to congratulate Suzanne Elson on being honored by the Special Olympics Hudson Valley Region with the “Bones” Jones Lifetime Achievement Award on December 9, 2022. Suzanne has been involved in Special Olympics for decades, helping to develop middle and high school special Olympics teams in Mamaroneck and starting the STARS program in 2001 for continued development in athletics of her students after they graduated high school. Ellen Pikula from HVR said “no other athletes have better skills than Suzanne’s.” Suzanne’s involvement in Special Olympics reflects Bones’ development and specialization of many sports programs. Suzanne received the second “Bones” Jones lifetime achievement award ever given. Suzanne thanked all of her athletes, Nora Mazzoni, and Maria Albano. She was among many other great honorees for outstanding awards in the Hudson valley region. We would like to congratulate Suzanne on this honor, as it is so well deserved!!
