About Me

I am currently involved in evidence-based research and policy analysis as a Consultant with joint-appointment at The World Bank's GGSCE (Office of Chief Economist for Sustainable Development) and DECEE (Research Group on Energy and Environment).

Prior to the World Bank, I was a Post-Doc Fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD) in Washington DC. I also taught Principles of Economics at the University of Oklahoma, and worked in the Research Department of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Senegal.

After a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Economics from the Université Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar and the Université d'Auvergne Clermont-Ferrand 1, respectively, I had the opportunity to pursue a stimulating career in both the public and private sectors. But the passion I had developed for research finally paved the road for a graduate program.

My research interests fall under the general topics of Development Economics and Political Economy of Development. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the institutional constraints to economic growth, shared prosperity and the allocation of public resources.

I am a native speaker of French and I am fluent in English. I can read and write both Spanish and Arabic. My hobbies include reading, soccer, American football, political debates, music...
