Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th February 2021
Southampton’s first online emotional literacy conference
Due to the current circumstances, the EL conference this year will take place online. Following its first week (18 January to 22 January 2021) we received a high level of interest from ELSAs who were unable to attend: we are therefore re-opening the conference for a second week, 22 February to 28 February.
If you attended the first week, you do not need to pay to attend the second week - the web address and password emailed out to you for the first week will continue to work.
The conference consists of several pre-recorded talks and workshops, each with an online discussion area so that delegates can ask questions during the week and discuss ideas with other delegates.
Our focus this year will be on moving forwards in our work with children and young people under a set of circumstances many would probably agree are the most challenging we have ever faced. Content includes:
A talk on what Covid-19 has taught us about belonging by Colin Woodcock, EP.
A talk on how Covid-19 triggers anxiety, and ways to move forward through this (by Liz Herrick, EP and co-author of the book, 'Supporting Children and Young People With Anxiety').
Videos from 'Simon Says' about supporting children who have had their awareness of death raised by covid-19, and who have experienced a bereavement during this period.
A five part series of training videos on the domains of resilience.
Practical workshops, including demonstrations and meditation videos.
There are also a number of free, downloadable resources.
