There is a serial port on the PLAY5. It connects to PA9 / SMTXD2 and PA8 / SMRXD2.
Pinout is as follows:
1 - +3.3V
2 - TXD
3 - RXD
4 - GND
My PLAY5 does not boot far enough to enable the serial port, so I have not seen anything come out or determined the baud rate. But I confirmed the connections via JTAG boundary scan.
Below is a picture of the serial port header. The square pin with the white dot above it is pin 1.
UPDATE: After some coaxing (cold spray on the boot ROM) I now get thru the bootloader! Baud rate is 38400. Does not seem to do anything after "Starting application" though.
