Well, we have wrapped up our Season 18 with another epic Champ-A-Thon! Congrats to Roach who defeated Willeye in heads up play to capture the 2025 Champ-A-Thon title. This was Roach's 12th win, BUT somehow, it was his first major! The win was good for $170 and 46 points, which was enough to vault him into 2nd place in the overall standings (more on that below). Willeye's runner up finish was good for 39.1 points and $130, while Coach K finished 3rd for 34.5 points and $110 which allowed him to finish 4th in the overall standings.
And speaking of overall standings, Timmy P continued his red hot performance finishing 4th in Champ-A-Thon, which was good for $100 and 29.9 points which simply padded his existing lead, allowing him to capture the SPT Season 18 title!! Congrats Timmy P!!
A HUGE thanks to Champ for hosting another awesome event that consisted of 3 full meals, countless snacks, goodies and desserts, and ran for 19 consecutive hours. Epic is an understatement. It began with breakfast in the garage at 6:30am, 18 holes of golf at Mohawk Country club, back to Champs for a fried chicken sammich lunch, poolside drinking, cigars, cornhole, continuous food, then a full dinner, poker tourney and finally an awesome spread of gourmet desserts. When all was said and done, Roach's winner pic was taken at 1:16am.
Regarding the spread of amazing food throughout the day, and the effort put in by Champ was nothing short of remarkable. I believe Meat said it up best in his Groupme post the next day, which was as follows:
"It was quite a culinary adventure yesterday Champ. - Pecan brioche french toast - small batch fried chicken sammidges with slaw and potato slaw - little neck clams with sausage and red peppers - country ham on grandmas double rise rolls - hand rolled meatballs - baked ziti - eggplant parmigiana - Bow tie pasta ala'Champ - italian rainbow cookies - Dulce de leche bars - 3 layer mint fudge bars. The time, effort and love that went into the food is difficult to describe."
Our Season 18 Finale and Annual League Meeting will be the "Porterhouse Invitational" (SPT 217) hosted by Porterhouse on Saturday, July 19th.
