Social Innovation carries a vibration (shall we say) that is different; carrying an expanded awareness beyond the ideas of environmentalism, or sustainability, and even 'social entrepreneurship' that  awaits our collective collaborative genius to unfold its direction. One thing that has to be different about "social" innovation" approaches, is that we have to (from the start) socialize our innovative design nature, thereby reframing the foundation for how we create social solutions so they do not end up trapped inside an old paradigm of singular thinking, designing, and implementing. This may not be easy for many of us, as our egos claim rights that are not their's to claim. We were educated to do it that way, but it doesn't work anymore - not long term. Especially because the whole innovation paradigm is engulfed inside a monetary system that is poorly designed (i.e. designed to keep the idea of 'poor' alive within today's social paradigm). This has to change (the money system) as well, or any social innovation we devise will fail inside this overriding system. It too has to be redesigned at the same time. So, I propose that, to enact another form of innovation process; one that truly serves and sustains and does not fall into the old system's way of doing and managing things, we must intend and define 'social innovation' differently from the very start - and we must be outrageously conscious of all this as we go.
