I am a Professor of Economics at the Graduate School/Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University. Before taking a position at Kyoto University, I was a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Lancaster University Management School (2015-2017); a Principal Analyst at the Fiscal Policy Studies Unit, Macroeconomic Analysis Division, U.S. Congressional Budget Office (2000-2005, 2012-2015); and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Risk Management and Insurance, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University (2005-2012). I received a Ph.D. Degree in Economics from the Department of Economics, University of Pennsylvania (2000); and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics, Keio University.
