I am a psychopathology and psychotherapy researcher who utilizes a social cognitive neuroscience approach to investigate the mechanisms of psychological disturbance and their treatment. Our translational research ranges from neuroimaging studies to psychotherapy research. In my career I have continuously fused my scientific and clinical interests. I have been a research psychotherapist in randomized clinical trials for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), been a Principal Investigator on federal and non-federal grants for BPD and related research, and instructed and taught at the doctoral level in both scientific and clinical domains.
