First Year Doctoral Student
Clair Segman received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Rhodes University in South Africa. She worked at a rural psychiatric hospital in the Eastern Cape where her work entailed assessing forensic cases for trial, providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults and supervising intern psychologists. She moved to New York after she married a Brooklyn native. Claire is currently in her first year working towards a PhD in Clinical Psychology at City College. She joined the SNAP laboratory in the Fall of 2018 and is currently completing training to administer the SCID and formulating research ideas for her dissertation. Her research interests include: the construct of Borderline Personality Disorder, Attachment Theory as it relates to improving child-parent relationships. Play Therapy and Cross Cultural Influences in Clinical Psychology. In her spare time, Claire enjoys walking her two dogs, reading, listening to NPR, and dreaming about traveling the world.
