We are a model railroad club in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Founded in 1984 to operate an HO scale portable model railroad layout with members working on their own modules at home in their own time. Members supply all of the materials for their modules, and the club owns the corners and controllers. We welcome new members who wish to participate by building their own modules in HO and N scale. We normally do not have activities for newcomers to the hobby, but many of our recent members have learned by participating in club activities. There is a wealth of information within the club and assistance is always available. We have members who model in other scales and gauges, most participating in all club activities.
We operate one large train show each year, and often participate in other local and area shows.
We hold business meetings on the second Friday of the month, visitors are welcome in the former Coles Book store in the Lancaster Mall on Saint John's West Side. Doors open at 6pm, meeting starts at 7pm.
The club hosts a FREE monthly open house in this building, on the second Saturday of the month, from 11am to 5pm. Come on over and see our model railroads in operation! See below our modules set up in the mall:
The SJSMR O scale modules, still a work in progress.
Most of our members are very talented in our hobby, please check out the Member Profiles pages to see what we have been up to! Please enjoy your visit.
The event was held in the Lord Beaverbrook Rink, here showing a layout from Massachuettes.
