High definition paper mouse pad

Problem

I was having issues with my mouse recently. It does not provide the desired resolution I need and for some reason I feel it really hard to control where the cursor go. At one moment, I was questioning myself, am I getting old or something? I have checked the specs for the DELL laser mouse used. Although it is not high standard gaming mouse, it should be still decent enough. Then I found the quirk feeling of the mouse depends on where I use my mouse and quickly narrow the problem down to the table surface. It is too smooth (or reflective) for the mouse to accurately register the movement. If I am able to add more features to the table surface, the mouse should works better.

My quick solution

After searching the web for a while, I have found a place online providing PDF for graph papers. The best part is that the web page allows customization of the line thickness and grid density. I printed out a graph paper with 0.05 point thickness and 1/64 in per grid, and taped it to where I want the mouse travel around. The outcome is astonishing. It feels like a completely new high-end mouse now. I have attached the PDF file I use below and you are free to try it out. Given the definition of the thing, I think laser printer will suit this job best. If your printer does not work with this PDF or you want to challenge the printer with higher resolution, go to the website and make your customized version. It also has other pattern beside the plain grid.
