Researcher in geophysics

I am a physicist working on rotating turbulence applied to geophysical and astrophysical planetary flows. My current study focuses on the formation of zonal jets and large scale vortices that form within atmospheric and oceanic flows.

ICY Satellites' oceans

The subsurface oceans on Jupiter and Saturn's moons, including Europa, Ganymede, Enceladus, and Titan, are crucial in the search for extraterrestrial life. These icy satellites not only have water but also non-aqueous components like salts and sulfur on their surfaces. Organic materials have been found in geysers at Enceladus' South pole, emphasizing their astrobiological potential. To explore planetary habitability, understanding oceanic circulation is key for heat and matter transport. We've developed a new numerical setup to simulate the hidden oceans of these icy moons.
