The Soroptimist Ava Crofford Community Service Award is presented annually to recognize the exceptional contributions of young women to their homes, schools, communities, countries, and the world. Established in 2000 in memory of Soroptimist Ava Crofford, a beloved charter member of our club, this award honors her lasting impact on our club. Her legacy continues to inspire our efforts to empower women and girls.
Last year's awardee is Lauren, a high school senior who is committed to service. She has a remarkable history of helping other students in her school, where she is a varsity swimmer, and mentoring lifeguard trainees. She has been active in animal rescue and co-founded a chapter of Girls Who Code to encourage STEM education. Her future plans include college ROTC, and she plans to attend the Air Force Academy and serve our country as a career. We are very proud to know her, and to award her with the Soroptimist Ava Crofford Community Service Award.
