Openings

Sep 2022 - Opening for 2 MS/PhD student(s) is available immediately (remote) or in Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 1. Please contact Prof Singh for applications to ABE/EEE graduate programs or to interdisciplinary graduate programs at Purdue. Both projects are funded by US National Science Foundation (https://www.nsf.gov/). The project details are as follows :

  1. Biodiversity Modeling and Sustainability Assessment: This project focuses on network science and modeling to understand the biodiversity changes across US freshwater ecosystems. This is a MS project. The student will get a chance to collaborate with interdisciplinary team across multiple universities – University of Washington, Louisiana State and Clemson University along with federal agency research scientists. Engineering/Environmental background preferred with skills in programming, mathematical modeling, data science and machine learning.

2. Designing Sustainable Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Networks for Zero Waste Circular Supply Chains: This project focuses on circular economy and digital twins modeling for pharmaceutical manufacturing with the goal of designing next generation manufacturing systems. The project is in collaboration with Chemical Engineering, Industrial engineering and Booth School of Business. The candidate will get an interdisciplinary environment working with economic theories and process engineering/systems engineering and optimization. The preferred background is Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and other related engineering fields. More details : here

Sep 2022 - Postdoctoral Opening : We have an excellent postdoctoral opening in Sustainable Future Manufacturing funded by US National Science Foundation. The opening is available through a fellowship with generous career development support and competitive salary. Details here.

Our lab in ABE/EEE offers a very invigorating and intellectually stimulating environment to pursue interdisciplinary research in sustainability and environmental engineering.
