Saturn is the first major planet to pass the barrier. There is a flash of light but little other obvious result. The Cassini probe remains active as it passes the barrier and continues to transmit. Subsequently rumours come out of ESA and NASA that there are anomalies with the readings afterwards.
NASA says Cassini is working normally but there is a slight distortion in the signal. As the Barrier passed there was a 27 second gap in transmission which the probe failed to register. The signal from the probe broke off for 27 seconds and then continued. Footage is released from the probe showing the Barrier approaching as a wall of light. Images of the Barrier from the other side are said to be at subtly different frequencies.
