We shoot three disciplines: 6 yard Target, 10 meter target and Bell target.
Our club rules are as follows.
6 Yard and 10 Meter
All Air rifles must be 177 caliber (4.5 mm) with a maximum muzzle velocity of 6 ft/lb, pistols must also be 177 caliber (4.5 mm) and not exceeding the legal limit of 6 ft/lb. Spring guns, Single stroke pneumatic, pre-charged pneumatic and C02 air rifles/pistols may all be used and there are no reasonable restriction on the use of optical sights however the range masters will give guidance.
Free practice session will commence from the beginning of the evening and competition will begin following the instruction from the range master
Competition will be held over 4 cards shot at 6 yards (18 feet) or 10 meters from a free standing (unsupported) stance.
No gun should be loaded until the range master gives the authority to load and commence firing. All guns must be unloaded, made safe and stored over the shooting line when not in use.
Each card comprises of five targets, one shot should be taken at each target, maximum shots per card being five. Any additional shots taken per card i.e. more than five will result in a void card.
Each target has a maximum score of ten points, fifty points per card and a maximum attainable score of two hundred points over a set of cards. The minimum score per target is zero, for missing the outer one ring and the maximum of ten will be awarded by braking the white dot in the center of the nine ring. All scores are judged by use of a pellet gauge. The decision of the Shooting gate air gun club scorer is final.
Score cards are independently scored and scores are available either through our facebook page or in the results section of this website. Please ask for details about the facebook group.

Bell Target
Bell target will be shot at 6 yards. Only domed pellets may be used for bell target shooting
There is an option to have two practice shots before the commencement of the competition that must called before any shots are taken. Practice shots do not have to be taken if not required
The competition is shot over six scoring shots, the lowest score to be attained per shot is zero and the maximum is 5.1 for ringing the bell without leaving a mark on the gace plate, there is no 1 point score only 0,2,3,4,5 & 5.1
The maximum score per shooter is 30.6.
All scores are recorded by the adjudicator and are final.
