What does Shoebox Theatre do? 
Act, tell stories, devise plays, make short films, have fun!
  We can provide drama activities for any age group or age mix
in your school or community group;  
residential and day care

  • Going, Going, Gone! Our next Whodunnit? Mystery Now in rehearsal - our next mystery. We are dispensing with dead bodies in our new play, Going, Going Gone! but there is a mystery to be unravelled by the audience. A motley group of the curious and the determined gather for an auction of effects at a small stately home. Among the items under the hammer is an early self-portrait of the celebrated artist J.W. Turnip. It is this that the majority of the visitors are interested in. What draws them all to this particular painting?  Performance dates will be in June. Watch this space for details.   • Our next lunch & play-reading event will be on Tuesday April 10th This is a chance to relax, meet new people and have a chat with a small, friendly group in a pleasant setting. The next one will be on Tuesday 10th April. Lunch from 12.30,  minimum donation to Shoebox Theatre £3; small raffle £1 a ticket. Venue: Community Room, Mercia Community Fire Station, Lichfield St., Tamworth. Please email us for further  details and to tell us if you are coming and let us know about dietary requirements.   • New drama project for Community Together Youth Group (ages 5 - 13) This project is now finished. Get in touch if you want to start up a drama project in your area.  From January 26th through to March 23rd Shoebox will be bringing drama workshops to the Sacred Heart community rooms in Glascote to put together a performance to share with family and friends. You can sign up with Steve at the Friday Youth Group meeting this week. Watch this space for more information. Please note that the session on Feb 2nd has been cancelled because of an  unforeseen emergency. Meeting as usual on 7th. There will be a break for half-term holiday week.
