Like to join us? Contact us, or just turn up on a Friday evening. 
You will be made welcome.
Open to young people from age 13 and adults with no upper age limit.
Younger children are welcome accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. 

Every Friday 7.00pm & finish at 8.45pm
This group is open to all.

A reminder that this coming Tuesday, 26th September, we will be hosting another buffet lunch and playreading. Lunch from 12.30,  minimum donation to Shoebox Theatre £3; with a reading of A Murder Has Been Arranged by Emlyn Williams to follow. Tamworth  nr town centre. Please email us for venue details if you are coming and let us know about dietary requirements.

What does Shoebox Theatre do? 
Act, tell stories, devise plays, make short films.

  • Schools workshops: Shoebox in the Black Country On July 12th, four practitioners, Marlene, Susannah, Margaret & Adam led workshops for the whole of Year 10 (ages 14/15) at Dormston Secondary School in Sedgley in an action packed Forum Theatre  presentation on conflict resolution. Several brave pupils put themselves and their improvised scenarios forward to act out scenes which were escalating into conflict, and their audience of fellow pupils called out "Stop!" every time someone saw a way to cool the atmosphere. They came up with some great solutions: "Don't wag your finger like that - it's aggressive" was one, but there were lots more ways suggested to ease the tension in tricky, potentially explosive situations.  We had a great time, and from the pupils' liveliness and ...

  • POSTPONED till September - Tuesday July 18th Fundraising Lunch & Playreading event We will now be running this event in September. Details here, as soon as a new date is chosen. Our next midweek event will be a light buffet lunch at a private town address, followed by a playreading of one of  the plays of Emlyn Williams, Wesh actor-playwright, who was once very popular in both West End and repertory theatres. If you'd like to join us, you will find us a small, welcoming group. Begins with lunch from 12.30 and finishes about 4. Minimum £3 for lunch. There'll also be a raffle.   • June lunch and playreading Tuesday June13 we will be meeting close to Tamworth town centre for a buffet lunch, raffle and reading of the thriller Dial M for Murder. Lunch @ £3 from 12.30, playreading to follow. Finish around 4pm.
