Donna Pattison is the founder and current director of Shimmer Flute Choir. In addition to Shimmer, Dr. Pattison has been a member of the Houston Symphonic Band since 1995. Dr. Pattison performed with the University of Maryland Concert Band, Pep Band, and Marching Band as an undergraduate. She served as the library manager for the University of Maryland Bands and as president of the Beta Eta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Service Sorority. Locally, Dr. Pattison studied flute with Teresa Grawunder and taught lessons at St. Mark Lutheran School. Dr. Pattison holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University and obtained postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine. She holds a B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland, College Park.
