Hi !!! Welcome to my Homepage.
This is Shibsankar, Assistant Professor (Selection Grade / Stage-III) in the Department of Mathematics, Institute of Science (I.Sc..), Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.), Varanasi - 221005, Uttar Pradesh, India. I was also a Visiting Assistant Professor in the DST-Centre for Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences (CIMS) and Department of Computer Science, I.Sc., B.H.U.
My academic background includes a B.Sc. (Honours in Mathematics) from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, Kolkata (under University of Calcutta), an M.Sc. (Mathematics) from I.I.T. Madras, Chennai, an M.Tech. (Computer Application) from I.I.T. (I.S.M.) Dhanbad and a Ph.D. (Mathematics) from I.I.T. Guwahati. Part of my PhD was completed in the Department of Theoretical Computer Science, Faculty of Information Technology, Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, Czech Republic, under the prestigious HERITAGE (Erasmus Mundus) Fellowship, funded by the European Commission for Ph.D. studies. Exchange mobility program, 2013-2014.
I usually teach papers/subjects related to Combinatorics, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Computer Programming (in C, C++, VC++, MATLAB, Python, Sage Math, HTML, etc.), Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Automata Theory, Theory of Computation, Digital Logic and Circuits, Software Engineering, Cryptography, Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, Linear Programming, Linear Algebra, Combinatorial Mathematics, Geometry, Numerical Analysis, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Statics and Dynamics, Mathematical Methods, Mathematical Modelling, Complex Analysis, Probability and Statistics, etc. Please Click Here for My Current Teaching.
My broad areas of specialization are Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Combinatorics, Computer Programming (C, C++, VC++, VB, MATLAB, Python, Sage Math, HTML, etc.), Data Structures and Algorithms, Theory of Computation / Automata, Theoretical Computer Science, etc.
My present research interests include Chemical Graph Theory, Mathematical Chemistry, Extremal Graph Theory, Graph (Matching) Algorithms, String Matching (Approximate & Parameterized String Matching Algorithms), Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms & Combinatorics.
Apart from my research work and several academic duties, I take a lot of interest in Swimming, flying Kites, doing Yoga, reading Spiritual books, listening soft music, photography, attending seminars and cultural programs, etc. In fact, "I Love What I Do and Do What I Love"!
