- I believe that community outreach, service and professional practice are crucial to the development of conflict studies. This means that much of the work I've done since coming to UNCG has been in promoting research, student learning, my program, and the university through engaging with the community inside and outside the university. This has been achieved several ways:Through various training and service projects in our Conflict and Violence Intervention in Communities (CIVIC) Project
- The Greensboro Landlord Tenant Dispute Program, a joint project between the Conflict Studies program and the Human Relations Department of the City of Greensboro.
- Professional practice as family mediator, parenting coordinator, and volunteer to the NC OSP Mediation Program
- Research on community engaged scholarship or service learning
