I am a Principal Inventive Scientist at AT&T Labs - Research (Shannon Labs), where I lead insights into emerging technologies like virtualization of the Radio Access Networks and optimization of software defined networks. I have been leading key focus areas of AT&T’s vRAN transformations, addressing both the technology and business challenges with the network transformation. I love solving the critical technical challenges in enabling technology realization at network scale -- working all the way from conceptual phases and architecture, building the Total Cost of Ownership to field trials and scaling. More recently, I'm exploring forward looking opportunities with a cloudified RAN including RAN resiliency, DU resource pooling, and AI for RAN.
In the past, I have also served open source communities as the Project Lead and committer for Optimization Framework community in ONAP incubating and delivering 5 successful releases of the project, and as the Editor of the Cloud Architecture and Deployment Scenarios specification in the O-RAN Alliance. I had also developed cutting-edge technologies that assist deployment, orchestration and management of network elements (and services) in federated, massive global scale networks.
My research interests are in the areas of Computer Networks, Mobile Systems, Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing, with many of my works explicitly bridging these areas of research. I'm very fortunate to be working with many talented students. I'm always on the lookout for motivated PhD students who are interested in any of the above areas of research. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out via email with your CV and a brief research statement. We are also actively looking to hire for full time positions in our group!
