The barn accepts cash or check only. We are unable to accept any other form of payment including venmo, credit, or debit. Please be sure to bring payment on the day of the lesson! 

We have varying sizes of boots and helmets available at the barn for you to borrow while you are getting started! We do suggest if you are interested in continuing riding that you purchase your own equipment so we can be sure it fits perfectly. Ask one of our trainers for recommendations! 

The only discount offered for lessons is a prepaid package. If you pay for 5 or more lessons at a time, each lesson only costs $50, instead of $55! There is no additional discount for siblings, friends, etc. 

No! Our lesson program is entirely separate from showing! If you are taking lessons and are interested in showing, let your trainer know, otherwise there is no showing or competition requirement for students at Shadowfax! 

At Shadowfax Farm, we’re proud to be a community where family and friends are always welcome! We love sharing the joy of horses with others, and encourage visitors to come watch lessons, support riders, and enjoy the farm.

For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask that:

• All visitors wear closed-toe shoes when entering the barn.

• Only individuals who have been instructed by our trainers directly should handle or lead our horses.

All barns operate a little bit differently, so even if you have experience we ask that you do not handle the horse without meeting our trainers first!

Please wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots), long pants, socks, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Safety and comfort come first around horses!

There’s no long-term time commitment required. Once you begin lessons, your trainer will explain how our weekly schedule works. While you’re not obligated to sign up for a specific duration, we do ask that you notify us in advance if you plan to give up your regular time slot so we can adjust our schedule accordingly.

Please note:

• We have a 24-hour cancellation policy—lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged.

• Lesson packages are non-refundable, so we recommend planning ahead before purchasing.

We welcome riders of almost all ages and abilities! Our lesson program is open to anyone age 5 and up.

Nope! We ride rain or shine thanks to our indoor ring. In cases of extreme weather, your trainer will contact you directly to reschedule if needed.

 When you arrive, drive all the way down the driveway toward the barn. You'll see a parking area on the left—park there and come in through one of the barn doors. Your trainer will be inside and ready to greet you!
