Since his arrival 1992, Top Cat has been a mainstay in the San Francisco Jazz scene. After moving to The Bay from NYC, he paired up with Sonny Simmons for the Big Quartet with Bobby Braith, Igor, Bubtunedia and Sandor Moss. Simmons left for Europe and Top Cat continued to develop his jazz career.
Top Cat began the Cafe International Sunday Jazz, a neighborhood institution that's grown over the last 20 years. Top Cat also gives back to the community through the Tenderloin Music Series for the San Francisco Arts and performing weekly at venues around the city. Musicians young and old have adopted Top Cat as a business and artistic mentor.
