Convert SFC1 model in MilkShape 3D

This guide is about convert sfc2/3 model to sfc1 in Milkshape3d. Note that Milkshape3D is shareware and it cannot handle break models (*_brk.mod).

Before you start, you should already installed Milkshape3D and the assimsoft R4 plugins. Both can be found in Milkshape3D download page.

The following is done with MilkShape3D 1.8.4.

Start Milkshape3D and select file -> import -> Starfleet Command (MOD) to import a model.

This is what you see after the model is loaded.

At the right panels, select "Material" tab. You will see a list of materials. Select any of the material.

You can see the illumination map filename and a "None" button right to it. Click "None" to remove the illumination map.

Go through all material and make sure you removed all illumination maps. Now you can export the model as a new mod file.

Just select file -> export -> Starfleet Command (MOD) from the menubar.

Milkshape 3D is relatively easier than gmax. But it cannot handle break models (*_brk.mod) so I usually don't recommend it.

This will conclude the rather short tutorial.
