Hello, my name Is John Banker and I am very excited to be teaching Spanish at McCall-Donnelly High School. I believe that all students have the right to a great education and I will do my best to help them gain proficiency in reading, writing, listening to, and speaking Spanish: Furthermore, I will teach my students about the different Hispanic cultures. I currently teach Spanish Levels 1-3 at MDHS.
Now, a little about myself. I am a New York native but grew up in Arizona. I did my undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ where I earned a BS in International Hospitality Management and a Minor in Spanish. I completed postgraduate studies at the University of Barcelona (Spain), earning a MA in teaching Spanish. I taught English in Spain for four years and have also taught Spanish for seven years in Colorado and North Carolina.
I have many hobbies, such as reading, cycling, snowboarding, cooking, traveling, scuba diving, and languages. I have lived in New York, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, North Carolina, Spain, Germany, and Austria. I am bilingual English/Spanish and am also fluent in Catalan and semi-fluent in German. I am enthusiastic about bringing Spanish language and Hispanic culture to McCall-Donnelly High School and glad to share a global perspective with students. Thank you for visiting my website!
