Heather Brown Director

Born and raised in Andrews, Texas, Heather Brown is a graduate of Andrews HS and attended the University of Miami, receiving a degree in Music Engineering. Heather performed in the Andrews HS Color Guard, Univ. of Miami's "Band of the Hour" Color Guard, Alliance of Miami, and Echos of New Orleans Parade Corps.

Heather has designed and/or directed for other high school programs such as Fredricksburg HS, Tomball HS, Brenham HS, Comeaux HS, Vandebilt Catholic HS, Midland HS, Midland Lee HS, Andrews HS and Deerfield Beach HS.  Heather has also been on guard staff for Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps from Lexington, KY, and Memphis Sound D&BC from Memphis, TN, Code Black Independent A from Houston, TX, and Identity Independent Winterguard from San Marcos, TX.  

Heather was Tour Manager (2012) then Tour Director (2013-2015) for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, and Tour Director for the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps (2017). She also served on the administrative staff for ATX independent (2016). She has served on the board for The Guardians D&BC and two terms on the Texas Color Guard Circuit's Task Force. 

Heather is a member of the Texas Color Guard Judges Association and has been adjudicating both indoor and outdoor since 2002. She is also a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association.  Heather currently resides in Seguin, TX and has been the Seguin HS Color Guard Director and Fine Arts Administrative Assistant since 2011, and is the Performing Arts Center Coordinator and SHS Student Council advisor. Heather has been a volunteer and worker for many UIL Music Region & State events like UIL State Mariachi and UIL State Marching Contest.  She's served on the TECA board since 2021.  She's currently the Texas Educational Colorguard Association executive board President.

Kameron Ridgeway Assistant Director 

Born and raised in Seguin, Kameron is an SHS and ECHS graduate of the class of 2018. Currently attending Texas Lutheran University to receive a Bachelor's degree in EC-6 Education, while working at both a Seguin High School Colorguard Tech and AVID tutor. Kameron was a member of the Matador Colorguard, performing in OverThrone, Without You, LVLS, and There is a House. Kameron has been an SHS Colorguard Tech since fall 2018, working with marching and both JV and Varsity Winterguard.

In 2023, Kameron and a other Seguin HS alumni  founded the Seguin Independent Winterguard, where she also served as Director.  2025-26 is the inaugural year for the Jim Barnes MS colorguard, a project started by Ms Ridgeway where students earn P.E. credit and can learn colorguard skills in class.  Students perform at parades and solo & ensemble contest, and other public events.

Ms Ridgeway resides in Seguin and enjoys time with her many pets, including her new baby, "Dolly" a dalmation.
