In 2009, SDRA had elevations of the main spillway topmost stop block transferred to the low water outlet structure, often referred to by locals as the gatehouse. The engineering survey can be below. The top of the west wing wall (under the yellow arrow) is 56 inches higher than nominal lake level. By measuring the difference between the water level and the top of the west wing wall, the lake level can accurately be measured. Based on measurements taken from this structure, SDRA has from time to time, set depth gauges at other locations to make measuring the lake level more convenient for record keepers. The low water outlet structure is located on Chestnut Hill Road, Chepachet, RI, south of the Glocester transfer station. The structure is located at approximately 41.902165, -71.676960.
