Q2 Recap
With the end of Q2 2018, let’s take a look at some successful launches:
MathType (mathematical & chemical notation add-on for Docs) is a super hit in the Docs add-on store with 34K+ users in 4 months.
Magic Rainbow Unicorns Slides (rainbow text effect add-on for Slides) scored a high of 10K new users just in the month of June.
Developer coverage: SW gApps and Accemy
Some popular free add-ons from EdListen, including Choice Limiter 2 and Simply Send, are given new life by SW gAPPS & Accemy.
Steve Webster of SW gApps and Waquar Ahmad of Accemy Software Solutions have teamed up to inherit some of the add-ons to help those developers who wish to have someone else maintain their add-ons, improve them and support their users better. Congratulations for their great efforts!

5 useful add-ons launched last month
Magic Link helps you search and add hyperlinks to your existing files from Google Drive, Team Drives or Assignments in Classroom. It works for linking one document by another for a normal user. But, for Google Classroom users, it promises to link multiple documents at a time. So Google Classroom users may want to try to see if Magic Link’s trick is helpful for them.

Linking documents in Google Docs: An experiment
When we discovered Magic Link add-on, we ran a quick experiment internally within our team members to see each one’s trick for linking documents in Google Docs. What we found is that everybody has their own habit of doing it and they change it only for something that saves time substantially.
For you, here are the many ways of doing it:
Using Google’s prescribed way of Insert > Link (Ctrl+K)’s “find more” to explore & link documents in-hand
Try Google’s “Explore” feature under Tools > Explore and open the desired document and link its URL
Searching & picking a document from Google Drive in a separate tab and use its URL within the current document.
So, which suits your habit? We will be glad if you can comment on your favorite technique for referencing another document in the current document.
Unlike filters, which limit what you see, sorting might be helpful when you want to compare records. If you are a lover or obsessive about conditional formatting of cells, here is a cool add-on that will sort range by colors! Sort Range Plus can truly be helpful in changing the order of the items grouped by colors, while the number of items visible to you stays the same. Its UI is very similar to the built-in Sort/Sort Range of Google and you might often go and search for it under the “Data” menu. But remember to find it under “Add-ons> Short Range Plus” ;-)

Adding icons to Google Sheets is not so easy and that’s why we don’t often use them. Insert icons makes it easy for you to search and include icons to your spreadsheets in one click. It has all the Font Awesome & Material Design icons that you can use for free without any attribution to anyone. More interestingly, for your icons you can select the color and size you want.
Use cases:
Use it for a button and assign a script that you want to invoke on your sheet

Have you ever had to ask people to come back to your form and edit their responses? Or did you have to correct your/your respondents' mistakes by editing the previous submissions? Then, Response Editor is for you! You can get the link to a specific form response that you can share with the respondent, or you can use it to edit it yourself. The search capability is helpful to find which response to edit. We hope this feature will eventually improve to make it more intuitive.
