Track if recipients have clicked on your link(s) (CTR)

Since the beginning of April 2016, the read receipts report comes with a new option! Now every time you enable email tracking, you will also be able to read how many times people have clicked on the link(s) from your emails (if there are any).

How to enable the click tracking?

As a reminder, you have to enable the (click) tracking feature right before sending your emails:

After that, you just need to open the read receipts report from the add-on menu, and you will notice that two new data have been added:

  • The total number of times your recipients clicked on your link on the green sidebar of the read receipts report

  • The mention 'EMAIL_OPENED' will turn into 'EMAIL_CLICKED' on the 'Merge status' column of your spreadsheet

How does click tracking work?

For the moment, we only track if your recipient have clicked at least once in any of the links from your emails. The click-through rate will help you measuring the success of your emailing campaigns, and should give you more useful information than the open rate only.

In the future, you might be able to get even more precisions (which link(s) have been clicked, how many times etc.) in your dashboard through the web app.

Besides, you might notice that your links have been changed in your emails, starting with 'https://yourdomain-dot-yamm-track.appspot.com/Redirect?ukey='. This is normal, this redirection is necessary for the click tracker to work correctly.
