Volunteering not only helps our teachers and students, it's a great way to make new friends. We have a great community here at Schirle and are always looking to add more !!
Volunteer Opportunities
Schirle PTC is always looking for volunteers in many different capacities,maybe you can help!
Every One, Just One - One parent, one event. You don't have to volunteer for EVERY thing, just ONE thing! If every parent volunteers for just one event, we will have more than enough help!
You can also go to the Salem-Keizer Public Schools website to learn about volunteering. All volunteers must complete a background check prior to working any event.
Book Club - Book clubs meet once a week for 6 consecutive weeks in the Fall ( Oct 14th - through the week of Nov 18th) and Spring (April to mid May). It's a lot of fun!! All books will be provided. There will be 6 to 8 students per group. Book club leaders are in charge of meeting with the students once a week during lunch and having a discussion about the chapters assigned.
Book Fair - Kids love books !! Our book fair is held in the spring. We can always use some extra hands with our before & after school sales.
Art Literacy - Art Lit is a great program that enlightens our children through the eyes of artists and art projects. Volunteers are needed to lead a lesson or assist one of our awesome leaders helping the kids create their own masterpiece.
Tea Time- Nothing is better that having a hot breakfast with your Grandma or Grandpa. Volunteer are needed to help set up, serve and clean up.
