Sra. Schade

SPANISH 1 AND SPANISH 2

Mrs. Schade - Information about me.

I have been here at Sterling for 21 years. I became a teacher after teaching a 55 year-old man to read as a volunteer literacy teacher through Macomb Literacy Partners. I went back to school to become an English and Spanish teacher. I continue to love reading and earned a Reading Specialist degree through Oakland University. I have taught English, Spanish, Power Reading,Aand ELA Builder IIA. Every moment I teach is based on what my students need. I truly love what I do. My husband of 35, now a retired teacher, continues to inspire me. We raise a dog, Callie, and a cat, Rupert, who are very spoiled. We have numerous nieces and nephews who are a little less spoiled but equally loved.

Spanish1 and Spanish II are designed to introduce the Spanish language as well as the Hispanic culture to students. Spanish I introduces the pronunciation and basic vocabulary to the students. They practice building their speaking, listening, and writing of the language every day. While learning the mechanics of the language, they learn about the Hispanic culture and how they can connect to this new culture both linguistically and socially. Spanish II students continue to build on this foundation with more complex grammar concepts and a deeper analysis of the Hispanic Culture. All teaching is in alignment with the Michigan World Languages Standards and Benchmarks.
