The initial goal of the virtual Barton Theatre Organ project, by the members of the VTPO Yahoo Group, was to re-create the Barton Theatre Organ of the Redford Theatre in Detroit, Michigan (see http://redfordtheatre.com/organ/) from the samples recorded by group members Joe Hardy and Lynn Walls. The project first released the Barton 3-7 Hauptwerk Beta sample set during December 2011, as those ranks had been processed and were ready for testing. The Alpha release of the Redford Barton 3/10 sample set for Hauptwerk took place in March 2012, and the 3/12 followed close after that. The Barton samples have also been release as the Barton 3/7 for GrandOrgue, and the 3/7, Redford 3/10 and 3/12 for jOrgan Fluidsynth in soundfont format.
The final phase of this project is the Gigastudio version of the sample sets for Gigastudio and LinuxSampler users/
Alpha Release
The ranks for the Barton 3/7, Redford Barton 3/10, and Barton 3/12 have been completed and are available for download. The samples are in 16-bit 48khz Stereo, and the set uses recorded tremulant samples.
Please Note: This is a SEMI-WET theatre organ sample set. Some of the acoustics of the Redford Theatre are part of the release portions of the samples, so if you are using additional reverb you will need to edit the GIG file's release settings to make the ranks more dry, or you will need to reduce your external reverb.
jOrgan Disposition Set
jOrgan 3.19 - Gigastudio and LinuxSampler dispositions for the Barton 3/7, Redford Barton 3/10, and Barton 3/12 with example LinuxSampler LSCP files:

Ranks to download:
NOTE: both jOrgan and LinuxSampler LSCP use 0-based MIDI Channels, so this configuration uses MIDI Channels 0 -> 15, Gigastudio and jSampler Fantasia use 1-based MIDI channels so just add to the channel value to get the 1 -> 16.

Additional Ranks for the Redford Barton 3/10
The Redford Barton 3/10 disposition is a replica of the Stop List of the Barton console in the Redford Theatre. It requires all of the ranks used in the Barton 3/7, plus these four additional ones:
MIDI Port 0 Channel 12 : Clarinet 94 Megs

Additional Ranks for the Barton 3/12
The Barton 3/12 is a fictional specification created to make maximum use of the ranks from the Redford Barton. The SoloStrings rank is created from a sampling of the Viol and Viol Celeste ranks recorded together. The Vibraphone is the Chrysoglott with added reverb and an LFO added.
MIDI Port 1 Channel 0 :SoloStrings 121 Megs

Configuration
These configuration settings assume that you have installed loopMIDI (and have one loopMIDI Port running and configured as 'loopMIDI Port') and also have ASIO4ALL installed. The next step is to edit the lscp files so that the GIG files are loadable:
1) Open the .lscp files in NotePad (or a text editor of your choice)
2) Change all the file location properties within the lscp to match the location of the GIG files on your system. For example, in the lscp file find all
LOAD INSTRUMENT NON_MODAL 'C:/Users/graham/Documents/jOrgan3.19/j3.19_RedfordSeries_GIG/GIGs/
and change the 'C:/Users/graham/Documents/' to 'C:/Users/YOURNAMEHERE/Documents/'
3) Save the lscp file
4) Do the same for the other LSCP files.
Now you can test the system with jOrgan and LinuxSampler:
1) Start the Fantasia LinuxSampler front-end
2) Start jOrgan
3) Load the Barton3-7_LS.disposition file
This should now load the jOrgan Barton 3/7 organ, and load all the GIG files in LinuxSampler.
In Fantasia (the LinuxSampler GUI), check the screen for errors, and use the built in keyboard there to test the sound. In the instrument rack, click on the rank that you wish to test (so that it is highlighted), and then use the mouse to play the keyboard at the bottom of the Fantasia screen. If it plays, then the jOrgan side should play as well.
