Savanna Blu

Savannah Blu is:

Dore Coller: Guitar, Vocals
As part of the Bay Area Bluegrass scene, Dore goes back to the days of Paul's Saloon, having played there regularly with High and Lonesome. Dore spent many years of writing, singing, playing guitar, mandolin, and dobro. Dore has played with members of such bands and artists as Allison Brown, Lacy J Dalton, The David Grisman Quintet, The Hot Club of San Francisco, The David Nelson Band, The Rowan Brothers, Van Morrison, The Waybacks and many more top named artists.

Gary Kaye: Banjo
Gary has studied with such banjo greats as Bela Fleck. He played with the Sunhill String Band, a New York based bluegrass band. Toured with the Cache Valley Drifters, a Southern California touring bluegrass band and eventually moved to Santa Barbara to continue playing with the band. Years later, he moved to the San Francisco area where he played in several bluegrass bands: The New Good Old Boys, Keystone Station, The Grass Cutters and formed the band Savannah Blu.

Olivier Zyngier: Bass
Olivier, on the stand-up bass, is the newest member of Savannah Blu. A native of France, he plucked the bluegrass guitar strings in Paris, then moved to the Bay Area to see how it's really done. Olivier explored various styles of music from folk to country, balkan, klezmer, latin and jazz on various instruments before settling on the bass . A founding member of the Baguette Quartette, he can also be spotted playing with the Redwing Bluegrass Band and the jazz combo Douce Ambiance.

Ted Silverman: Mandolin, Vocals
Ted is a recent addition to Savannah Blu and a accomplished bay area musician. He lives in San Francisco and is a founding member of the Chazz Cats, Belle Monroe & Her Brewglass Boys and Gayle Schmitt & the Toodala Ramblers.  Ted sings, writes and plays mandolin, bass and guitar. He joins Savannah Blu on mandolin and vocals.

Tom Lucas: Fiddle, Vocals
Tom has been playing with Savannah Blue for over a year now. Tom plays "both kinds of music"--Bluegrass and Old-Time, and has managed to make his fiddling fit with the Traditional-New-grass styling of Savannah Blu. Tom also plays with the Earl Brothers (a local Outlaw Bluegrass band) as well, and was a seminal member of the Crooked Jades, a renowned San Francisco Old-Time band. He has played with many other bands as well on both banjo and fiddle, has taught both instruments,  is one of the founders of the San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival and is the host of Oakland's famous Baja Taqueria Invitational Bluegrass Jam.
