My research interests cover a range of issues, experimental nuclear physics and astrophysics, plasma and Laser physics, detectors, sensors, and related electronics. I enjoy hands on investigations of detector response to different kinds of radiation, and performing experiments concerning pulse shape, data acquisition, and data processing in order to optimize the experimental results. I would like to apply this knowledge to my everyday research work.
I have been spokesperson of experiments at international stabele and radioactive ion beam facilities. I coordinated several research projects.
I have over twenty years of teaching experience both at undergraduate and post-graduate level and have been invited to give plenary talks and lectures at several international conferences and summer schools.
Finally, I am a keen mentor and offer support to PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and early career academics.
