He is studying thinking, reasoning, and meaning. In particular, he challenges the question of whether and how higher-level thinking with logically distinctive concepts can be realized in visual representations (as in natural language). He takes an integrated approach of logic/philosophy, cognitive science, and AI/data science. Topics in his projects include, but are not limited to: entailment, consistency/contradiction, conditional, negation, quantifier, and intention.
