December 2019: SASE is very pleased to announce that it has unanimously elected a new president - that is prof. Vladimir Jovanović, a PhD in English linguistics and a full professor at the Department of English, University of Niš.
New members of the two management bodies of the Association have been elected as well.
February 2019: The website of the next ESSE conference (ESSE-15), to be held from 31 August to 4 September, 2020, at the University of Lyon, France, is now available at: http://www.esse2020lyon.fr/en
December 2018: The SASE Assembly has adopted an amendment to Article 5 of the SASE Statute, thus enabling PhD students studying in the area of the English language, anglophone literatures and the culture of the anglophone nations in the Republic of Serbia to also become members of SASE and ESSE.
September 2018: The Hungarian government has adopted a draft degree which proposes to ban MA programs in gender studies for future years in Hungary. With full support of the ESSE Board, prof. Liliane Louvel, the ESSE President, has written to the Hungarian State Secretary of Education, Dr József Bódis, urging him to reconsider and withdraw this misguided proposal.
September 2018: The next ESSE conference, ESSE-15, will be held at the University of Lyon, France, from 31 August to 4 September, 2020.
