I am Professor of Philosophy at New York University Abu Dhabi, where I moved several years ago from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I am also the co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy.
My research on agency and the philosophy of mind focuses on the nature of intention and belief. I'm interested in questions about self-knowledge, self-control, and what we should believe about our own intentional actions, among other things. My book Philosophy of Action: A Contemporary Introduction was published with Routledge Press in 2021. A new book titled Striving: Uncertain Agency, co-authored with Jennifer Morton, is forthcoming with Oxford University Press in 2027.
For a summary of my thoughts on various things, here is an interview with 3:16AM Magazine. You can reach me at sarah.paul@nyu.edu.
